The Bind

it may seem a way to keep a person is

to tell her over and over who she is to you

to tell her all the ways she makes you whole

to tell her of the hell you would have to survive without her

but in the end we know she will never be enough for you

because the denial of herself to be everything you need

will slowly kill her

and one day she will leave you

because she must

because when it comes down to it

her only way to survive

will be to choose herself over you

and even that will feel like death to her
